"
Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is, not a preparation for life; education is life itself." John Dewey
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute At RIT

We are pleased to welcome the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at RIT to their new location at the Riparian at Rivers Run. Their new home is a beautiful addition to the Rivers Run community as part of the new apartment and commons building. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at RIT is a unique educational organization that offers a wide-ranging of classes to adults over 50 who have a thirst for knowledge.
Founded in 1987, “The Athenaeum,” was reborn as an academic-style learning center and as an affiliate of RIT. In June 2006, The Athenaeum was awarded a grant from The Bernard Osher Foundation and was renamed “The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at RIT”. Members may take courses in many fields, including arts, literature, sciences, history and government (although certainly not limited to these fields alone). Courses are developed and conducted by members who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences.
